Denny Breau
Saturday April 24, 2004 at 7:30pm
Admission $10

Denny BreauDenny has a dazzlingly clean, clear and rhythmically perfect guitar style, that reveals influences from many genres: country, folk, jazz, rock and blues. His songwriting is in the contemporary folk style, but without the confessional self-importance of many of today’s songwriters. Breau writes about life in Maine, life in general.
Over the past 20 years, Denny has garnered numerous awards from the Maine Country Music Association. He earned Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Instrumentalist of the Year so many times that he was eventually retired from the running with an All-time Greats award.

The Boston Herald has this to say about the married duo: "Cactus Highway is the most rare of acoustic acts, they are a duo of true sophistication who merge folk, pop, jazz in flowing, smooth, unpretentious ways."

" They really light up a room!" Marilyn Rea Beyer, Program Director, WUMB, "Boston's Folk Radio".

Over the past year, they've brought their sounds to cities all over the country, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Seattle, Kansas City, Buffalo, Cleveland, and others. They've released one CD, of which the Village Voice simply says this: "Amazing."
